Management Summary (The Business Plan)
The management summary chapter of your business plan is more or less a short form version of the entire business plan.
The interested party should be able to read through it in a maximum of five minutes. After reading through it one should have a good understanding of what the objective is and want is needed from the interested party. The introduction should not be kept at 2 pages or less. The management summary is the most important part of the business plan an must spark the interest of the reader to motivate him or her to read further.
The following question in particular about varying aspects of your business must be asked and subsequently thoroughly answered:
What is our business idea?
·In what sector or field is the business active and what are the goods and services that are offered?
·How do we plan to sell these products or services?
·What is the growth potential of the market?
·Who are the management? What experience do they bring with them?
·Why do you believe you will be successful?
·How much investment is needed? Private equity of foreign capital (debt)?
The management summary should
·allow the business to present its thoughts in a short and concise manner.
·spark the interest of the reader.
·present the business idea in an attractive manner so that the investor will also be motivated to read the rest of the business plan.
