Jobs forecast predicts a stagnant jobs market
In the next three months one can expect a stagnation in jobs forecast. Overall there is a momentary dynamic weakness.
Weak dynamic on the job market
The KOF Swiss Economic Institute of the ETH Zurich expects there to be little change in the jobs forecast within the next three months. Companies are very careful when it comes to hiring new personnel. The uncertainty, especially with regard to the development is Switzerland’s most important key markets, shrinks the readiness to hire new employees. The Swiss Economic Institute suspects that it is unlikely that there will be a marked positive change. At least the trend in the reduction of credit ratings caused by the European debt crisis which brought about a cooling of the markets could be halted.
Not all sectors hit equally
Between the different sectors of the economy there are some marked differences. Therefore, certain sectors can expect jobs growth while others could expect dramatic reduction.
Projections for the insurance industry are looking good as are the numbers for the services sector. Also the construction industry can expect to maintain high jobs numbers. The following sectors, however, are expected to see a negative development in the jobs market: the banking sector, the retail industry, and the hospitality (restaurants, hotels) industry.
