FSC® / PEFC™ – what’s behind them?
You can find them on letters, pencils, or when buying timber at the DIY shop: the FSC® and PEFC™ logos. They are often inconspicuous in their design – but their importance is immense. The FSC® seal stands for responsible forest management and the PEFC™ seal for sustainable forest management. Behind them are NGOs that work internationally to promote the responsible management of forests. Only wood and paper products that have undergone an elaborate testing process are awarded the coveted certificates.
Often mentioned in the same breath, the certified paper is issued by two separate institutions. Their objectives are however similar. PEFC™ is committed to documenting and improving sustainable forest management. With standards that take ecological, economic and social aspects into account. The FSC® certification system tries to reconcile ecologically responsible, socially beneficial and economically profitable forest use. Specifically, this involves preserving biodiversity, water resources and soils, for example. That’s not all, however, as it also covers compliance with employee and land use rights and the careful use of machinery.

Printing on certified paper

The key feature: At FYLERALARM, not only can you have print jobs printed on FSC® or PEFC™ certified paper, you can even place the labels for product identification automatically without wasting any time.
Automatic logo placement of the FSC® or PEFC™ seal
FLYERALARM is the first online print shop in the world where you can print flyers, business cards and many other print products easily on certified paper from responsible (FSC®) and sustainable forests (PEFC™).
An absolute first: On request, the FSC® or PEFC™ seal is automatically and visibly placed on your printed products so that your commitment to the environment does not escape the attention of your customers. Unfortunately, you yourself are not simply allowed to use the organisations’ logos in your print motif – this is reserved for certified companies only. However, the resourceful product developers at FLYERALARM have found a way that enables you to promote your environmental efforts with the respective seal:
- you create your layout as you always have.
- If you now select products of a certain configuration, you can have FLYERALARM automatically place the FSC® or PEFC™ logo on them.
- The online print shop is strict when it comes to ensuring that all specifications of the organisations are met, including the minimum size, positioning and colour of the logo.
- You can select where the logo is placed in the “Options” configuration step.
So in no time at all, you will have a printed product made from sustainable paper that has been produced according to the standards of the FSC® or PEFC™ organization, from tree felling, to paper production, to delivery – and it allows you to show off a little as well!
With these product configurations, you have the option of having the FSC® or PEFC™ seal placed automatically:
| Blocks with glue bonding
For all sizes, from DIN A6 to DIN A4, in portrait or landscape format and any number of pages, you have the option of having your books/pads produced with glue bonding and 80 g PEFC™ offset paper, with the PEFC™ seal. |
Stationery
For stationery, you can also choose FSC® or PEFC™ materials for all formats. If you use 80 g FSC® offset paper, 80 g FSC® recycled paper or 80 g FSC® uncoated cream paper for your stationery, you can have the corresponding logo placed automatically via the options. Logo placement is also possible with 90 g PEFC™ offset white. |

For business cards, you can have the PEFC™ logo placed on 300 g matte PEFC™ image printing, 400 g matte PEFC™ image printing and 350 g PEFC™ offset paper. Furthermore, that is regardless of the format, number of motifs or the print run of your business cards. |
Environment & Nature flyer
For flyers in the Environment & Nature category, you can have the PEFC™ seal placed via the options for the following materials: 135 g image print matte or glossy PEFC™, 250 g image print glossy PEFC™, 300 g image print matte PEFC™ or 350 g offset paper white PEFC™. The FSC® seal can be printed on 300 g FSC® uncoated cream paper. You are of course free to choose the size, format and number. |
