French-speaking Switzerland as a strong region for start-ups
French-speaking Switzerland recorded a total of 1337 start-ups, making it indisputably the region with the highest number of start-ups. Increase in Zurich and Central Switzerland
In April, 814 new start-ups were registered in Zurich, which is 6.54% more than in March and 0.74% more than in April 2023. After the sharp decline in March, there was therefore a slight increase in April.
The strongest percentage increase in April was recorded in the Central Switzerland region, with an increase in new registrations of 36.44% compared to the previous year and 18.04% higher than in March. In absolute figures, this corresponds to 674 start-ups. The largest number of entries in the commercial register was recorded in the Canton of Zug, with a total of 287 start-ups.
Eastern Switzerland and Ticino keep pace

In Eastern Switzerland there was an increase of 1.82%, while in Ticino the number of start-ups remained exactly the same as the previous month. In April 2023, however, the number of start-ups decreased significantly in both regions. Growth was 24.00% in Eastern Switzerland and 28.99% in Ticino.
