Depending on the\u00a0sector\u00a0that the entrepreneur\u00a0chooses\u00a0to work in there are\u00a0differences\u00a0in required equity when working freelance. Service providers as a general rule tend to require less equity because they have no or very little production investment as opposed to a\u00a0manufacturing\u00a0business.<\/p>\n

Technology concepts\u00a0are particularly capital intensive. Entrepreneurs are therefore often dependent on large quantities of equity. The development of a product is very expensive and it may take years before the product is market ready.
