2023 vs. 2022<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The increase compared to the previous year was also evident in the year-on-year comparison between 2022 and 2023, as 46943 new companies were founded in the current year up to the end of November, compared to 44897 start-ups last year. The increase from 2022 to 2023 was therefore 4.56%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Central Switzerland is catching up<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Central Switzerland scored well in November. While 557 new companies were founded in October, the number of start-ups amounted to 659 in November. This increase corresponded to 18.31% and compared to last November, a lead of 9.47% was gained. Zug stood out in particular with 281 new start-ups, as this result corresponded to a change of +23.79% compared to the previous month. In addition, 101 more new companies were founded in November this year than in November last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Positive trend<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The November wind brought momentum to Zurich’s start-up scene, as a total of 833 new companies were founded, 13.80% more than in November last year. The result was also pleasing compared to October, as there was an increase of 4.52 percentage points.
Ticino also scored with growth in the number of start-ups. A total of 196 companies were founded, 7.69% more than in October and 3.70% more than in the previous year. Eastern Switzerland reported an increase of 5.04% compared to the previous month and growth of 2.65% compared to November 2022. 542 start-ups were therefore recorded in this region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mixed picture at the top<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In French-speaking Switzerland, 1203 start-ups were counted, a decrease of 4.37% compared to the previous month. However, in a direct comparison with November 2022, there was a slight increase of 3.53 percentage points, meaning that the region with the highest number of start-ups also showed a positive change compared to the previous year. The canton of Vaud accounted for the most start-ups, with a total of 431 new companies. This number corresponds to an increase of 13.12% compared to last November.
However, the second-placed region followed the trend of growth. This is because there were 961 new companies in Northwestern Switzerland, 5.84% more than in October and 0.84% more than in the previous year. Aargau provided a positive surprise, gaining 27.06 percentage points on the previous month and 19.56% on the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outlook<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Following this positive development from October to November, a further increase is expected between November and December, as December has been one of the strongest months for start-ups in recent years. In December last year, 4897 start-ups were counted and, based on the stronger figures for the current year, there is hope that last year’s figure will be exceeded.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
