In November\n2021, a total of 4205 companies were founded in Switzerland. This represents an\nincrease of 13.83% compared to October 2021 and an increase of 0.72% in\ncomparison with November 2020.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With a\ntotal of 4205 new companies, November 2021 is the month with the highest number\nof company foundations since STARTUPS.CH began keeping records in 2013.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Predominantly\npositive developments<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The number of newly founded startups increased in November 2021 compared to October 2021 (+511 startups or +13.83%) as well as November 2020 (+30 startups or +0.72). Most language regions can report positive developments too. In comparison with the previous month, the number of company foundations increased in German-speaking Switzerland (+417 startups or +17.17%), in French-speaking Switzerland by (+75 startups or +6.92%) and in Ticino (+19 startups or +10.50%). French-speaking Switzerland (+46 startups or +4.13%) as well as Ticino (+12 startups or +6.38%) furthermore managed to exceed the previous year’s result. Only in the German-speaking part of Switzerland did the number of newly founded startups fall slightly (-28 startups or -0.97%). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Significant\nincrease in startup figures compared to October 2021<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As is usual towards the end of the year, the number of startups increased in a majority of cantons compared to the previous month. Of the cantons with strong foundation figures, the cantons of Berne (+43 startups or +15.14%), Lucerne (+49 startups or +31.41%), Ticino (+19 startups or +10.50), Vaud (+88 startups or +25.73%), Zug (+56 startups or +23.63%) and Zurich (+117 startups or +18.31%) recorded significant increases. In contrast, the number of company foundations stagnated or fell slightly in the cantons of Aargau (+\/- 0 startups or +\/- 0%), Geneva (-14 startups or -4.26%) and St.Gallen (-18 startups or -8.11%). Moreover, the canton of Obwalden stands out with a noteworthy rise in its startups figures (+20 startups or 333.33%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Results\nof November 2020 exceeded only by small margin<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In comparison with the previous year the changes in the number of newly founded companies are far less significant. Of the cantons with strong foundation numbers the cantons of St.Gallen (+14 startups or +7.37%), Ticino (+12 startups or +6.38%), Vaud (+85 startups or +24.64%), Zug (+26 startups or +9.74%) and Zurich (+11 start-ups or +1.48%), reported positive developments. On the other hand, the cantons of Aargau (-10 startups or -3.98%), Berne (-30 startups or -8.40%), Geneva (-53 startups or -14.40%) and Lucerne (-64 startups or -23.79%) suffered slight declines. The proportionally strongest decrease was recorded in the canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden (-6 startups or -50.00%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After this record in November 2021, one may be curious about the foundation figures of the following month. After all, entrepreneurs are known to really step up their game towards the end of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
