Environmental consciousness and sustainability are more important than ever before. This applies to nearly every industry, and gastronomy is no exception. Especially companies that offer drinks to go can implement relatively simple measures to polish their green image. For instance, bakeries and caf\u00e9 can offer reusable cups as an alternative to the customary paper cups \u0096 printed with their own logo, of course. By offering thermal cups, bakery and caf\u00e9 proprietors can expand their range of products to include practical household goods for their customers. reUUSI cups: the first fully recyclable coffee-to-go cups <\/strong><\/h3>\n

Standard disposable cups are practical, widely used and, unfortunately, not good at all for the environment. In Germany alone, some three billion paper coffee-to-go cups are used every year. Their interiors are typically coated with a synthetic material that makes it impossible to recycle the valuable paper the cup is made of. Together with the Irish company CupPrint, FLYERALARM has developed an environmentally friendly alternative and launched it on the market: the reUUSI cup<\/a><\/u>. From there, the cups are transported to recycling plants, where they are processed into paper fibres. These fibres are then used to produce packaging, recycled paper or newsprint. The entire process, that extends from the production of the reUUSI cup<\/a> to recycling, has been inspected and certified by cyclos-HTP, the partner institute of the German Green Dot.<\/p>\n

Thermal cups – clever customer gifts and great to-go alternatives<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Thermal cups or thermal flasks<\/a> made of porcelain, ceramic or stainless steel are even higher quality and more sustainable. Actually, they can be used much more often, which saves resources. The following applies, essentially: The longer reusable thermal cups<\/a> are in use, the more energy and production costs for disposable cups are saved.<\/p>\n

Bakeries, caf\u00e9 and other operations in the gastronomy industry can use them cleverly either as promotional items, prizes or sales items to add to their existing range of goods. The selection is enormous: with or without a handle, printable or engraveable, specially designed for drink holders in cars, or including a screw-on cap that also functions as a drinking cup. By the way: People working in gastronomy are generally allowed to fill thermal cups<\/a> customers have brought along.<\/p>\n

Advertising with environmentally friendly coffee cups<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Here is one suggestion for a nice initiative you can use to show that the environment is important to you: You can give customers who bring their own thermal cups a discount on their drinks. Advertise using this gesture in the immediate vicinity of your bakery or venue. This unique characteristic will set you apart from your many competitors and give your establishment character. And of course people can purchase appropriate thermal cups from your company that you have had printed with your logo.<\/p>\n
