New Records<\/strong><\/p>\n In total, 43,416 new organisations were registered in Switzerland\u2019s Commercial Register last year. It is 2,087 or 5.05% more than last year, which held the record so far. Overall, seven months of the last month hit record highs. The most popular registrations included limited liability company (GmbH) (share: 37.78%), sole proprietor (share: 31.84%) and public limited company (AG) (share: 21.24%).<\/p>\n Growth Especially in Medium-Strong Cantons <\/strong><\/p>\n The growth was particularly high in cantons which, due to their percentage of new company formations, rank in the mid-range. The highest growth could be recorded in the canton of Zug (share: 5.14%; increase: 19.83%). Significant growth was also seen in the cantons of Basel-Land (share: 2.66%; increase: 11.37%), Valais (share: 4.60%; increase: 10.28%) and Aargau (share: 6.15%; increase: 7.53%). The canton of Uri was able to grow substantially despite its small total percentage (share: 0.28%; increase: 14.29%). The number of new company formations has also considerably risen in the cantons of Zurich (share: 18.04%; increase: 5.68%) and Vaud (share: 10.11%; increase: 5.18%), where most registrations usually take place.<\/p>\n Downturn in Cantons With the Lowest Number of Registrations and in Ticino <\/strong><\/p>\n Some sort of recession could especially be seen in cantons where least companies are normally registered. The cantons of Obwalden (share: 0.47%; decrease: 15.06%) Nidwalden (share: 0.56%; decrease: 14.08%) and Glarus (share: 0.30%; decrease: 10.88%) are most affected. Only the canton of Grisons (share: 2.12%; decrease: 2.75%) and Ticino (share: 5.25%; decrease: 7.50%), which go over the 1% mark, have recorded a decline.
