According to the Wall Street Journal, a large investor is about to take a chunk out of taxi start-up Uber<\/em>. They have been offered a membership in a club for start-ups each worth 10 billion pounds.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nAccording to the Wall Street Journal, Uber is the centre of attention of various investors, including Blackrock and General Atlantic. This may lead to investments of over 500 million dollars, stating the value of Uber at over 12 billion dollars.<\/p>\n

\nUber has developed a unique car sharing system. Using the application, users can find a ride to their requested destination. The service allows credit card payment only, and the start-up slices off a nice 20% of the fees.
\nThe idea has spread throughout 36 countries and has been introduced in Zurich. There are several other Swiss start-ups that have recently entered the market, including Tooxme. The application shows its users the closest ride to a certain destination.
\nUber has been largely criticised by various taxi drivers. They fear for their customers, seeing as Uber offers relatively low prices for the same service.
