Get to know the 5 most successful Swiss Startups

In the first half of 2021, around 1.7 billion CHF were invested in Swiss startups. Learn now which Swiss startups emerged as the biggest winners from the funding boom.

Swiss startups have experienced a real boom in the past six months. According to the Swiss Private Equity & Corporate Finance Association (SECA) Swiss startups generated more than 1.7 billion CHF in a total of 124 financing rounds. More and more Swiss companies have even established their own venture capital departments in recent years to provide financial support to Swiss startups. These 5 startups are the biggest winners of the first half of 2021.

1. wefox with 585 million CHF

The Zurich-based startup Wefox is bringing a breath of fresh air to the insurance industry with its digital service platform. Wefox brings customers, brokers as well as insurance companies together and enables them to efficiently manage insurance products and business processes. In contrast to other portals, Wefox also personally supports its customers in optimizing benefits and in the event of a claim. The goal of the platform is to offer digital insurance management without leaving out the personal touch.

2. Nexthink with 162 million CHF

Nexthink, a software company based in Prilly, has developed a management software designed to make everyday work easier for employees and companies alike. Using a unique combination of real-time analytics and automation, the ambitious Swiss startup aims to fulfill the promise of the modern digital workplace. The software aims to improve the digital employee experience and reduce IT costs for businesses.

3. CeQur with 108 million CHF

The Horw-based medtech startup CeQur is revolutionizing diabetes treatment with its Insulin Batch. While the CeQur Simplicity wearable insulin device measures blood sugar, the Simplicity patch can hold up to 200 units of insulin and deliver them automatically. CeQur primarily targets its services at people who do not reach their blood glucose goals with stand-alone insulin injections.

4. Numab Therapeutics with 100 million CHF

Biotech startup Numab Therapeutics, based in Wädenswil, produces antibody-based immunotherapies for serious diseases such as cancer. What makes this startup special is its plug-and-play platform, which reduces the random nature of the discovery process, thereby accelerating the development of specific therapeutics.

5. Bright Peak Therapeutics with 96 million CHF

The Basel-based startup Bright Peak Therapeutics develops novel designer immunotherapies for the treatment of cancer and autoimmune diseases by using a special design-and-combine chemistry platform. Originally developed at ETH Zurich, the platform allows cytokines (immune defense proteins) to be optimized and novel “Bright Peak immunocytokines” to be created.
